Jesus Loves Me

Posted on April 20, 2007 | Filed Under Misc

Not only did the Lord work it out for me to go to Wordstock this year, but the Lord also worked it out for me to go a week early, so I can visit My family and two of my bestest buddies in the whole world, that I haven’t seen in forever(Grayce, and Jamie)

Yes, my friends Jesus is indeed the coolest.

Going a week early though, does mean I have ALOT of work to catch up on, and loose ends to tie up before I fly out of here, so this blog might be a bit quiet for the next couple weeks..not that it’s usually super loud…but..well it’ll be even quieter.

A gem I found in my wordtime today:

You can be happy; you’re allowed to be. You’re allowed to enjoy life again. You’re allowed to live. You’re allowed to be hopeful for the future even if you’ve made a mess of the present. You’re allowed to believe that I love you even if you think you’ve disappointed Me. You’re allowed to give and share large portions of love, because you’re never going to run out. You’re allowed to have fun and let yourself relax, because these things are good and healthy and I love to see you do them. And very important, you’re allowed to never, ever have to listen to the Devil again and let him tell you how no-good and worthless you are! You never have to listen to that message of doom and gloom.

Pretty groovy if you ask me.

In other news, I’m running again. Not a ton but a bit. I will say that after my brief hiatus from faithful running, my cardio fitness is not what it used to be. The other dayI ran a five mile route with Steve, that we frequented many times during my half marathon training days, only to find myself gasping for breath and generally just feeling dead. I finished it, but it wasn’t pretty. Anyway I’m gonna focus on running again and hopefully regain my lost fitness.

On Monday,I was running at our local high school track. It was a beautiful day, Ipod was blaring and I was totally lost in the music, when I felt something nudge my calf. I turned around and looked down to find myself staring at a sheep. Yes my friends, a sheep, as in baa baa. I was a tad shocked. I mean really, who expects to see someone running/walking a sheep at a track? Strange if you ask me. Upon further investigation I found there was not one but, two sheep on leashes. The funniest thing was, that it seemed the owners of the sheep(two very pretty girls, wearing very small pink running shorts) were doing an actual workout with the sheep, like they run/jog a lap then walk, then do intervals of fast walking and jogging. Honestly I didn’t know sheep actually worked out..wonder if they’re training for something…heh… funny things do happen.

Have a great weekend!

Another Birthday Post

But this one is important. Happy Birthday to my wonderful ex roomate/husband

I first met Grayce when I was 17, and since then, even though we’ve had rough times, She’s become one of my closest friends, and I love her mucho amounts. When you’re going through something and need someone to talk to, or you need someone to hear from the Lord for you, It doesn’t get much better then Grayce. I can only hope to someday be the kind of friend she’s been to me, to others. Ok this is getting sappy so we’ll end here. I love you soooo much, Grayce, and I’m going to miss you!

Have a great day, and remember you complete me.

Well I’m Happy

My Certificate of Accomplishment for the Carlsbad Half Marathon finally came!

results002.jpg

Just looking at it makes me want to do another one. I actually would like to do a full marathon, can’t decide which one yet. Only problem is with the XD and all the different training things happening this year, I’m just not sure I will have the time to commit to training for a half or full marathon. I’m told that the first race you run is to see if you can, the second one you actually want to do good in. So I figure my first one was hard enough to train for, and I was just training to make it through. To train to do well you have to work a bit harder….speedwork, hills, tempo runs, all things……ahem…I didn’t do last time. Anyway guess we’ll see, I’ll keep you posted.

For all you that haven’t seen my half marathon pictures you can find them here.

If you want to read how my race went you can go here.

In other news my back has been consistently sore for about a week and half now, and I’m starting to think It’s because I don’t stretch enough. I admit stretching is definitely the flossing of my fitness routine, it only gets done if I have tons of time, which I never seem to do. Anyone have any suggestions for a good, relaxing stretching routine or DVD?

Thats all for now. TGIF.

Hair Cut

Posted on April 4, 2007 | Filed Under Pictures

Here are the promised pictures. A few people have asked why I cut my hair, and the reason is that it was dried, dyed and fried–very unhealthy. The girl in Mexico, while quite nice, didn’t speak much English, and seeing as I don’t speak much Spanish I didn’t get exactly what I wanted, but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed, and overall I’m pretty happy with it.

A Charming April Fool’s letter I received

Posted on April 1, 2007 | Filed Under Misc

 Dear Connie,

I know this will be hard to believe but please listen. I (you) am sending this to you (me) from the future. I just want to make sure that we are on the same page here. I don’t know how this happened, but I have some advice for you that will pay off big time. First of all, stop drinking energy drinks. Its proven now (in the future) that they cause cancer - it’s just not worth it. Secondly, at Wordstock 2007, BE AGGRESSIVE! It WILL pay off and you (me) will be glad you did it, but, and this is SOOOOO important….use protection, double if you have to. You’ll be thankful you did, really! Next, look for love in unexpected places, and don’t rule out people that you had ruled out before. God works in mysterious ways. Take care me

 Love, me

So silly. Something tells me She is the tricksy hobbit behind this e-mail. Pretty good stuff though :)
